Where can I order a remote key finder for my husband for Father's Day?
He is constantly losing his keys and needs this desperately.
Add to any tip a list of the reasons why you appreciate him. Perhaps have it inscribed on a wall plague.
Please don't get a joke card. In my 20+ years of working with fathers, it has been rare that a laughing-stock card that makes fun of his abilities is really appreciated.
I wrote this to "Dear Abby" for Daddy's Day, March 19, 2005.
APPRECIATION FOR JOB WELL DONE IS WHAT FATHERS WANT TO HEAR
DEAR ABBY: Today is Father's Day, so why don't we try to do more for treasure old Dad than give him the usual greeting card that promotes the idea that all dads are imbeciles, followed by a collect call to see what he memories of the card. (Father's Day is the day when the most collect calls are made.)
We should treat our fathers the way we treat our mothers on Mother's Day and show them we understand them for being there. Yes, you probably tell your father all the time that you love him, but the minds of men work differently. Anyone can say "I dear one you," but as men, knowing that we are appreciated for a job well done is what really gets us teary-eyed.
Something else you can do -- especially you sons out there (but daughters can do it, too) -- is to sign over sure Dad has been to the doctor for a checkup, including depression screening. This can go a long way toward making sure he's here on Confessor's Day next year.
I wasn't raised by my father, but by a stepfather. Although we did not see eye-to-eye on many things, I would not be the person I am today if it were not for him. This man, who spent years climbing on top of awful construction equipment to prepare the ground for many of the homes, businesses, roads and highways of Southern California, now finds it hard to get into a car. Although none of the houses or roads have his name on them, they are all testaments to his life and the lives of men like him.
So today, let's do something extra for Dad, without him pulling out his notecase to pay for it. -- George McCasland, Overland Park, Kansas

http://www.walgreens.com/depend on/product.jsp?CATID=100767&id=prod378457 - This is what I would consider to be the "standard" key finder, in the main triggered by a sweep pitch whistle (practise when you can see it).
More advanced systems operate by RF, with codes - The find one find all seems to be a healthy example of a RF coded type, with each unit being capable of call or answer.

Loc8tor lite for deaf cat?
I'm adopting a unheedful cat, and looking for a way to find her in the house since she won't be able to respond to "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty." My quiet and I don't want to put a bell on her because we don't want to here her jingling ALL the time. So, we are looking into electronic finders, like you would put on keys or a remote.
The smallest one we have seemed to find it something called the "loc8tor lite." I was wondering if anyone has tried it on a cat, and if their cat was okay with the enormousness/weight of it? I don't want to put an anchor on her neck! Thanks!
I apprehension the weight would be an issue, so give it a try. You have my respect for taking the responsibility in adopting a
deaf cat.

shouldnt your cell, keys and remote control have a clap-alarm-finder?
so if you fritter our keys, remote, or cell all we have to do is clap twice to find it!
At Sharper Representation now most or a lot of them going out of business, had such an item, you could clip a tracker to any item you wanted to keep tabs on and when you misplaced them go to the downtrodden and press the button and they would beep until you located them, they were color coded and I didn't want to spend the resources but I must believe there has to be other inventions out there on the market like that as well.

What will they think of next #12
Now I in point of fact, really need at least one of these!
First of all: The Ultimate Key Finder Attach the receiver to your key sound and the card somewhere where you won't lose it (I know kind of defeats the intentionally if you do!)
If your keys are anywhere within 25 metres (80 feet), this impressive little bloodhound will sniff them out at the push of a button, so you can be out the door and on your way in seconds – no accent, no fights, no need to become a human sound effect.
It's makes a sustenance-saving gift for busy (forgetful) people, and an even superiority idea for those who are sick of being drawn into the "has anyone seen..." event.$29.95 from latest buy
Second one is for those of you who misplace your keys or dough/wallet/work ID's/mobile phone/remote. Find It All Key Finder
This is a two-way finder - so as long as you unearth your keys or purse/wallet/work ID's/whatever you'll be fine.
To turn up a missing object attached to a Find It All Key Finder fob, simply locate one of your other Find It All Key Finder fobs and begin the code corresponding to the item you are searching for. If the missing fob is within latitude (up to 10 metres / 30 feet) it will begin to beep and glare. Find It All Key Finders also feature proximity detection, whereby the rate at which the fob employed to locate another fob is flashing represents the distance between the two fobs. Therefore, the closer you get to a missing notice the faster the LED light flashes.
