doesn't do the job

I bought one for a trip to europe. It claims to be rated for up to 50W but it overheated and died while charging a netbook rated at a 40W draw.

It did successfully charge a digital camera and an Iphone with no overheating problems.

50-WATT Jensen converter works as advertised

100% satisfied with the 50-WATT Jensen converter. I bought 6 of them (3 from Best Buy and 3 from Amazon) and they all work just as advertised. As long as you use these converters with small appliances rated 50 WATT (or 50 VA) or less, they would work just fine.

It is an overkill (the router uses 13 Watts only), so feel in one's bones free to connect to the converter other appliances as well, but you don't need to buy another one if you don't want to.
TV guy | Jul 07, 2009

you can use it ok, but since what you absolutely need is a 230v to 5v adaptor it may be easier just to buy one of those from just about any electronics or computer shop.
If you check the...

You'll demand an adapter. If you're going to travel a lot it would be worth it to get an international adaptor kit; that way you'll have the right adapter no matter what rural area you're in.

What is the best voltage limitation method before feeding an analog digital converter?
